Burak Dimici

Burak Dimici (Of Counsel) is an energy, infrastructure, and projects lawyer with decades of experience and a distinguished career in providing legal and regulatory advice, primarily focused on energy and infrastructure projects. He previously served as the senior associate in charge of the energy practice at the Istanbul office of a leading multinational law firm. Burak also has extensive experience as an in-house counsel at the multinational energy conglomerate AES Corporation, where he played a pivotal role in the company’s joint ventures with Istanbul-based multinational conglomerates Koç Holding (AES Entek) and IC Holding (AES-IC).

Burak’s career includes a tenure as a legal advisor at the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs and a counselor at the Turkish Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources, where he was seconded to advise the state-owned enterprises BOTAŞ and BTC on matters related to the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) Crude Oil Pipeline. Burak’s expertise extends to international energy agreement negotiations.

He further possesses unique experience in providing regulatory advice to energy companies, setting up bespoke corporate structures tailored to transaction-specific needs, drafting and negotiating project finance documentation (including project documents such as EPC and O&M contracts), as well as designing compliance programs and conducting internal investigations.

As a senior practitioner, Burak Dimici gives lectures on Energy Law, Project Finance and EPC contracts.
